Harris Lynn Maloy
Harris Lynn Maloy, 65 of Rhine, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021.
Mr. Maloy was an Alumni of Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and was the owner of M & H Pine Straw. He lived and breathed his family and his company and always thrived to do and have the best. Keeping the legacy Matt started 25 years ago was of the upmost importance. The passion he had for the company showed, and he thoroughly enjoyed every landowner, crew, and customer he ever met. He was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church. Mr. Maloy was a family man, and his girls were his world. He had many sayings but his most famous were, “I have some beautiful girls, they get their looks from their mama and their B.S. from me”, “I have never met a stranger” and “I’m no less than the best and no better than the rest”.
Mr. Maloy is survived by his 3 children, Julie (Scotty) Wright of Fitzgerald, Erin (Jad) Dixon of Fitzgerald, Jodi (Dennis) Williams of Douglas; mother of his children, Margaret Anderson Maloy; Grandchildren, Matilyn Wright, Branson Wright, Bain Williams and John Alan Dixon III; Brother and Sisters, Hazel Keen of Abbeville, Mary (Dennard) Spires of Rhine, Larry Maloy of Rhine, Karen (Sammy) Rawlins of McRae-Helena; several nieces and nephews; close family friend, Deloris Reaves and a honorary son Rodney Young and many best friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dougald Graham Maloy and Vivian Walker Maloy, his son Matthew Douglas Maloy, brother Don Maloy and brother-in-law Wayne Keen.
The funeral service will be at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Sharon Baptist with burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Jody Yancey will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Loredos will serve as pallbearers.
