Obituary for Jerry Lamar "Tuddy" Russell

Jerry Lamar “Tuddy” Russell

Jerry Lamar "Tuddy" Russell 77,, of Savannah, formerly of McRae, died on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020, at his residence in Savannah.

Tuddy was a former owner of Talent Tree Staffing Services, a disc jockey with WDAX for many years and was owner of various radio stations, served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennard L. (Jerry) Russell and Ruby Long Russell.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Smith Russell of Savannah; daughter, Angel Nowell of Savannah; grandsons, Charles William Nowell of Augusta and Zackary Nowell of Statesboro, and numerous cousins.


Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 31st, 2020, at the Telfair Memorial Gardens. Lay Minister Norwood Davidson and the Rev. Keith Smith will officiate. Jimmy Brown, Mike Nix, Richard Morehead, Billy Cook, Nick Wynn and Tyrus Long will serve as the pallbearers.
