Obituary for Mary Vonell Thomas
Mary Vonell Thomas, 90, of McRae, died on Monday, February 24, 2020 in McRae Manor Nursing Home in McRae.
Services will be held on Friday, February 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lowe’s Funeral Home with interment to follow in Telfair Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Kenneth White will officiate. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27th at Lowe’s Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Hardy Thomas and Sallie Scarborough Thomas; siblings, Dorothy Thomas, Berta Thomas, Gloria Collins and Edison Thomas. Mary Vonell was a saleslady for B.C. Moore’s and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her brother, Hardy (Mamie) Thomas Jr. of Lyons; sister, Julia Smith of Girard; numerous nieces and nephews.
