William “Leon” LaFavor

William “Leon” LaFavor, 87, of Helena, died on Sunday, July 26, 2020 in the McRae Manor Nursing Home in McRae.
William was the son of Simmie and Essie Mae LaFavor. He left Helena as a young man and spent his life in Apopka, Florida. Where he worked and retired from the City of Apopka. He was an active member of the Florida State Elks Association for many years.
He is survived by 5 brothers and sisters, Edna Harrelson of Warner Robins, Willis LaFavor of Helena, Dolly Morris (Hubert) of Helena, Barbara Davenport of Helena; Wayne LaFavor (Connie) both of Helena; nieces, nephews, friends and his best friend, Paul Braddy of Sorrento, Florida.
The family will receive friends and family from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 in Lowe’s Funeral Home before the graveside services.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 in the Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery. The Rev. Glen Hancock will officiate.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Simmie Sanford LaFavor and Essie Mae Selph LaFavor; brothers and sisters, Marcie LaFavor, Bernice Steverson and Waymon LaFavor.
